It all began with two unsuspecting individuals, Roger and Nikki, united by a common goal: to discover joy and savor the good things in life. Their journey led them to Siquijor in the Philippines, where they envisioned creating a space that embodied this philosophy. Initially setting out to establish a modest restaurant with a few glamping tents, their dreams soon expanded into a vibrant beach club.
From October of 2019 when they began construction, they navigated the challenges of the pandemic, facing doubts and hardships along the way. Yet, their unwavering commitment to their vision propelled them forward. They carefully curated the design and architecture of the beach club and restaurant, merging the lively spirit of the Mediterranean influences from Roger’s Spanish heritage—the birthplace of the beach club concept in Ibiza—with the tropical essence and hospitality of the Philippines in Southeast Asia, Nikki’s home country. Finally, on the 8th of November 2022, after 3 persevering years, RUNIK Siquijor opened their doors to the public.
The following year, the two decided to reach new heights. RUNIK has always put their dedication and commitment to design and architecture. They also understand the value of convenience in finding accommodation within the island. A space is only a space until it is transformed and time is of the essence. To give more value to their deserving guests, RUNIK designed and build a transformative space delicately made for convenience – All the bold elements you never thought you wanted, carefully placed in your compact but fully functional space. Maximized utility made with a delicate eye for design for that guaranteed comfort and high-end feel. By March of 2023, VILLA RUNIK welcomed its first guests allowing them to enjoy all the facilities of the beach club right at their doorstep.
Today, RUNIK Beach Club and Resort stands as a harmonious fusion of a beach club, restaurant, accommodations, and a versatile performance and events space. This diverse range of offerings has begun to attract visitors from around the world. Roger and Nikki hope this testament to joy and celebration will continue to resonate across cultures and places, inviting diverse guests to experience the richness of life together. Their dream has blossomed into a destination set against a magnificent Cliffside with stunning sunsets and breathtaking ocean views which allows everyone to gather and celebrate the enjoyment and happiness these moments bring and to savour the finer things in life – enjoying the Good Life.
